Fork springs

Post  Jools on Fri Jul 09, 2010 11:28 am

Hello all,

I would like to improve the fork springs on my Vega, it's a bit spongy at present, and almost bottoms out with heavy braking (if you can call it heavy braking slowing down from 45 mph!) I would like to beef them up without compromising the standard look. Anyone one have any ideas?

i'm using standard springs as a starting point...fitted dampers which are a great improvement! I'd recomend.I've thought about springs....i was going to add a couple of 10mm washers to tense them up abit...? I'm happy with standard so far...if i rebuild i'll try this.....
so far.....dampers + j hub + reverse pull brake.....ACE! Laughing

I tried cut in half Ser 3 springs but found them too hard on bumpy roads but may suit other folks

Hi everyone, first post on this forum so here goes-
I have series 3 springs and dampers fitted and find it has made a massive (for the better) difference on mine. Would at least recommend the springs as a starting point.
