Fork compressor

Post  Snails on Mon Aug 12, 2013 4:10 am

Hi

Has anyone tried using a fork compressor from a std lammy on a Luna ? Will it fit? I'm getting a bit frustrated trying to use a ratchet strap and not damage my paint or damper brackets.

Are your forks still in the frame? If not put them in a vice, upside down. Assemble springs, rods, upper bumpstop, links and spindle bolts but leave the lower bumpstop out. With a largeish ring spanner lever the links down, compressing the springs. Fiddle the lower bump stop in place. When I last did some the remade bumpstops were too large and I had to trim them to fit. I hope this helps.

Thanks guys I will try the ring spanner rather than the ratchet strap although one of my lower bump stop holders is a bit knackered so it's a bit tricky getting the stop in.
