removing Cometa forks

Hi
Trying to remove the front forks in order to change the bearings, everything undone and the forks have dropped approx. 20cm but wont come out....... Mad  Any ideas?

you need to completely remove the bolt from the steering clamp, if you have done this already try turning the forks side to side, are these the original forks ? reason I ask is there are two types of forks, its possible the lock can be engaged and the forks still turn.

As far as I know they are original forks, the forks have dropped enough to be below the steering lock, they just wont come out????

They are out,  Very Happy  seams that the steering stops had burred over the years, now filed of the burrs and they fit nicely.....thanks for your help
