I'M A NEW OWNER?

Post  Bobbylad on Tue Aug 19, 2014 5:58 am

Hi, just in the process of getting a little Lui 50.
I used to have a Vega 75s many years ago which I rebuilt in my flat, but I could never get it to run correctly and sold it for £100 to someone in York.
I think the fella who bought it had quite a few and was well into his Vega's, so at least it went to a good home?

I will be picking your brains and scrolling through the forum for the best possible uprated kit as it's only a 50cc.

Cheers

Welcome Bob. Plenty of good advice and knowledge to be had here. As this is a fairly select group replies may be a little slow to arrive but be assured there will be someone along eventually with what you need.

Hello and welcome.

It will defo need an upgrade if you want to drive it on the roads. There has been a few posts on this before but you are lucky in that a kit does now exist. Joey has one and raves about it so check out his posts. Basically buy the 80'cc kit, change your front sprocket and have a think about getting an old vega exhaust or Chiselspeed ADS Exhaust. You will need some welding or a bracket making in order to mount a non lui pipe.

Alternatively go old school and fit a Vega or J Range engine (the J range requires a bracket for the rear shock making) or fit the insides of a J range engine into your Lui engine.

Have fun and show us your scoot when you get it.

Cheers Lads and thanks for the welcome.
Yes I think the bug bit me years ago and it was just festering inside me!
I'm looking forward to getting my hands dirty (I'm not scared to have a go) and as I rebuilt one years ago, (well took it to bits, cleaned, polished, sprayed it and then put it back together again.)
I've got a bit to do with this to get it in top condition so I will be begging for advice and info, I'm already on the hunt for parts and got my feelers out with the lads I know in Hull with scooters.
I own a GP200 (RB250) which is being restored at the moment, but will not be ready any time soon, engine is built and ready to bolt in it's just the rest that needs sorting.
Cheers

I'm now the proud owner of a Lui50cl.
Time to get my hands dirty and I'll post some pictures if I can work out how to do it?

Dead easy

host your images at something like Flickr, get the url (basically the address) of your image and then click the 'insert an image' icon on a post and paste the url in. Or you can click 'host an image' icon and upload directly to this site, although I think this may have some admin or cost burden on the site so I tend to avoid doing it that way.

Mmmm, I can't seem to do this, I wanted to use my Facebook Avitar, but I cannot find the option in my profile?
When I click on the image, the green drawing all I get is:

save image
copy image URL
copy image
open image in new tab
search google for this image
print

in that order, I have done this before on Facebook and the Fiat Forum, but I cannot for the life of me work out how you do it on here???

Is it because I'm new on here (and nobody trusts me yet???)
