Headlight question

Post  Thackers on Thu Sep 04, 2014 3:11 pm

Hi out there, am I right in thinking a G.P headlight bulb holder is the same a Vega holder?
I'm thinking of doing a h4 bulb conversion but don't want to ruin my original unit.

You should be able to use one Dave, but I can't remember if there's room for the H4 connector block although Halogens are available in the Bosch BA 20D fittings. Are you still using the electronic kit I did for you?

Hi Lloyd, yes I'm still on the 12v system and it's still going a treat. Yes, now you mention space it might not be ample for the h4. I'll have a try anyway, you never know. I was thinking along these lines as I have one in my G.P and never had any issues but perhaps i'll not produce enough power to make it work well. Thanks for the Bosch tip, i'll check that out too, cheers mate. Cool

No idea about the H4 fitting. I use a "normal" halogen in mine - fits no bother and is plenty bright. Is an H4 brighter? Do you plan on riding a lot in the dark? Depends which light unit you have regarding fitting a GP bulb holder - one fits, one doesn't.

I was simply thinking that a H4 car bulb conversion would stand up to the vibration better and yes, they are brighter so daytime running is a little safer. Very Happy

Oh yeah, good point, it will only fit CEV type headlight unit - i was assuming that Dave had this type as he was asking the question.
