Luna badge and wheel colour

Post  storkfoot on Mon Apr 06, 2015 1:44 am

Excuse my ignorance as I am still getting my head around Luna line stuff. Two questions have just sprung to mind

Is there any significance as to why some wheels and hubs are grey and not silver ?

Secondly, what models were the "LUNA" legshields badges fitted to?

I've no idea to the colour question. I've assumed they were all silver as per the GP/DL range. The badge question also intrigues me. I used to think that 'LunaLine' was a generic term. Lui being the model name in Italy but Vega used in the UK. Not sure whether the Cometa featured in both Italy and The UK though. Recently I've seen a Luna badge on a Scandinavian destined 'Lui' and I have an English language workshop manual where the 50's are referred to as Lunas and the 75's referred to as either Vegas or Cometas. Interesting. I'm sure the answer is that different markets had different names.

Thanks for the reply, Paul. I quite like the grey hubs and wheels. Whether they came off the production line like that......... Question
