Vibrations on 125 Conversion

Post  madmaex08 on Mon Jun 22, 2015 2:59 am

my Lui125 worked a treat on the little round trip to Eurolambretta and back (around 150km). Cruising speed was 70kmh/43mph. Anything above that (it would do 80kmh easily) and it started to vibrate way too much.

I know the 125/140 conversions tend to vibrate a lot, but has anybody ever succesfully eliminated them (at least to some amount)? What did you do? Balance the flywheel and or crank? The wheels? Use different (or maybe just new) engine mounting blocks?

I still have a 140 conversion to do and would like to get rid of the shakes as much as possible

My 140 is not much worse than a standard Vega really at those speeds.
No special tricks r.e. balancing cranks etc. Just make sure to use Nylocs and build it properly
from the start.
